Oatmeal Chip Bars

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1-1/4 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups quick-cooking or regular oats
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter or margarine, sugars, eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Fold in the oats, chocolate and butterscotch chips. Spread in a greased 10" x 15" rimmed metal pan, using a spatula or your hands dusted with flour to press into place.
Bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool, but cut the bars while still warm, as a knife will go through them more easily.
