1 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2-1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1-12 oz. bag chocolate chips
1 cup nuts-optional
In a large bowl, combine butter, sugars, vanilla--beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to creamy mixture. Add chips and nuts. Insert toothpick in center to test if it's done.
