Ingredients
1-1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco shortening
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda

M & M's
Instructions
Preheat oven and place sheets of parchment paper on cookie sheets.

Place brown sugar, shortening, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add egg; beat well. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to shortening mixture; beat at low speed just until blended.

Drop dough by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls (or by using the large cookie dough scoop from Pampered Chef) onto ungreased baking sheets or parchment paper. Flatten slightly and insert craft stick into one side. Place M * M's on dough.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Do not overbake! Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies/parchment paper to cooling racks to cool completely.
Makes approximately 32 cookies.
Tips
Craft sticks can be purchased by the box at craft stores or Wal-Mart.
I use this recipe and chop up various candy bars, such as Butterfinger, Kit Kat and Almond Joy.
